  1. Information that we collect from you

    You may be able to visit parts of this Web site without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. In order to visit other parts of this Web site we may need to collect Personally Identifiable Information in order for you to verify your eligibility to obtain access to education products, related promotions or information that you request. We may collect information from you through the use of online forms and through email, telephone, fax and mail correspondence which we have with you. The information collected from you may include but is not limited to:

    • Your name, address, email address, and birth date
    • Information concerning your educational status such as level and course of study and affiliation as a student or staff member at a specific educational institution

  2. Opt-In and Opt-Out

    This Web site requires users to provide us with certain Personally Identifiable Information (such as listed above) in order to provide the user with eligibility verification services. The Web site requires users to actively select whether they choose to give us permission to share any Personally Identifiable Information with the product or service provider, and whether the user wishes to receive promotional communications from the product or service provider. The product or service provider may with your consent offer you the opportunity to receive email updates and announcements concerning our services, special promotions and product information. Information that you have provided to us may be used to facilitate those communications if you have given permission for this type of sharing with third parties. You must have a valid product code to initiate the authorization process and view consent options. You may change the consent option you choose by emailing custserv@identit-e.com.

    You will find that it is not compulsory to provide us with any additional information we request which is not necessary or reasonable in order to provide you with the services you have requested. Furthermore, please note that our policy is not to ask for some types of personal data—that is, data relating to race or ethnic origin, political opinion, religious or other similar beliefs, trade union membership, physical or mental health, sexual orientation, or criminal records. We recommend that you do not provide such information to us. If you choose to do so for any reason, this will mean that you have given (and we accept) your explicit consent for us to use that information for the reasons described in this policy, or as explained at the time you provide the information.

    Identit-E, LLC provides "Partnership" Web sites which offer entities other than a TRUSTe Licensee a business right to access and use Personally Identifiable Information collected by the Licensee's Web site.

    • Identit-E, LLC Web sites provide authorization services for purchasers of Partners' products or services
    • Personally Identifiable Information will not be shared with more than one Partner; only the Partner that provides the product or service for which authorization is requested will receive information related to that authorization request.
    • The Opt-In and Opt-Out consent rights and process described above apply to Identit-E, LLC and its Partners alike.

  3. Use of information collected

    Personally Identifiable Information that we collect is used to determine your eligibility to use products or services.

    In addition, we may track your domain name or IP address to assist our efforts to gather and track Personally Identifiable Information. IP address is a globally unique identifier of your computer. Multiple users of the same computer will share the same IP address. However, in most cases your ISP (or network server, if a business user) will assign an IP address only for the duration of your online session (about 80% of all Internet users are using "temporary" IP addresses). This means that even when your IP address is noted, it is unlikely you will have the same IP address next time you use the Internet. IP addresses are never shared with third parties.

    Domain name information that we collect is not otherwise used to personally identify you and instead is aggregated to measure the number of visits.

    When Personally Identifiable Information, such as your name and email address, is collected from you with your consent (for example, through the use of on-line forms or via email, etc.) we generally let you know at the time of collection how we will use that personal information. We may use the personal information you provide or which we collect via this Web site for the purposes of:

    • providing validation codes that you have requested from us;
    • responding to your inquiries or to process your requests in relation to your information;
    • providing and personalizing our services generally;
    • carrying out market research campaigns or surveys(always voluntary);
    • maintaining information as a reference tool or general resource;
    • making the Web site easier for you to use and providing you with access to all parts of the Web site;
    • helping you to quickly find services and information on the Web site; and
    • where necessary, crime prevention and prosecution of offenders.

    Except with your permission or as provided herein, Identit-E, LLC will not sell, trade or rent personal information about you to unaffiliated third parties. Your personal information may be viewed by certain of Identit-E's business partners for the limited purpose of reviewing the integrity of our data and the security of our systems. These business partners are service providers and can not use your personally identifiable information for any other purpose including their own marketing without your consent.

    • In particular, with your consent, Partner product or service providers may use your information to contact you for your views on our services and to notify you occasionally about important changes or developments to the Web site.

    Without your permission we may also use and disclose non-personally identifiable information in aggregate for marketing and strategic development purposes or use and analyze the information we collect so that we can administer, support, improve or develop our business.

    By using the Web site you consent to us using your personal information for the purposes described above.

    Legal Disclaimer
    We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site.
